I *really* enjoy a good long drive, destination unknown...There is no other therapy like it for unravelling oneself and thinking
i love so much to think about things in different ways... on the way home from work tonight, in the dark and frost, i convinced myself that my body wasn't mine, that everything below my head was distant and numb and not part of me at all. i wasn't driving, because i'm hopelessly incompetent, but it felt dangerous nonetheless. this picture is the same... there's a short story by neil gaiman in his 'smoke & mirrors' collection that involves angels discussing and planning the world - if i have a memory, the one who was working on the idea of love was murdered - and i'm reminded of it in the slowly abstractness of this. also how hitler encouraged naturalist art [i have no idea of terms] and tried to turn back art. the tree looks like it's growing from the sky, and either this is real [angel] or non-real [anti-hitler artist] and you're going to be in a lot of trouble for it. does this make any sense? it's beautiful, also, but that's obvious - like the sky's torn open his shirt, growling, and is showing his chest. or that's not beautiful. or the most powerful two stars had an argument, and exploded, and while this is news in space, we don't know.
I love the evocative way you write...do you know...when I first looked at this picture in Photoshop I saw an embryo growing in a womb. I rotated it sideways...No pun intended but I felt like I was out on a limb with that thought, image, idea...so I just swallow it because I wasnt brave enough to "speak it". In thinking about your walking home and convincing yourself of your lower extremitial detachment. It reminded me of something I used to do. When I used to walk sometimes I'd just randomly laugh..then I'd laugh a little more...in no time at all I'd be genuinely absolutely rolling about laughing can you imagine how good this felt?? Thank you so much for your "otherworldly" comment. you know what? The next time I go driving im going to wind the fucking window down and just laugh You're the best.
Oooo thanks for the link...I just may enter it if it qualifies..
Im really enjoying Playing with my boundaries at the moment...Im kind of really over myself ...and what I mean by that is my usual bright, naieve photos...they're not speaking to me...I don't know,Im in some kind of transistional phase...Im letting go of the shore ..or something. Im surrendering the safety of my artistic lands to explore unknown others...ok, end of rant.
I very much agree!
Quite different than your usual...I like!

That burning sun and the silhouette of the tree are just fine
Especially the silhouette looks very sharp, quite like that
And that curvy hillside(?) is just suberb
Nice too see something like that made by you
Something different this time, very nice
