.....We had been driving along for about 3 solid hours...between Mildura and Broken hill. The further north we got the more orange the earth became. I can not express how this incredible rugged beauty impacted on me. I had this yen to run out into the scrub and hang my sari over a tree which was about 50 meters from the road. I had my two camera's, one film, one digital and my sari and I started heading out to the tree and then I broke into a run. All was well until I tripped over my undone shoe laces and fell into a bush full of sharp pointy thorn things... My digital bounced out of my hands along the ground, but luckily it still works. That night, Thelma spent 2 solid hours with a pair of tweezers getting the thorns out of my arm, butt and legs. That really, really hurt, it was as if I'd been sandpapered with fibreglass. This photo is a tribute to my being a complete idiot
I think the beauty of the outback is more to do with the experience of it than what you see. I had not felt any attraction to the outback until I went to the fringe of it, now I feel like I've been awakened and I can't wait to go back.

Its a photo with so much life and passion in it. Great Job
I'm having a mental blank...
Beautiful picture.
